In the top team-match in Group D, Germany started better and lead by 2:1 after one period. The second period was very levelled, Poland tied the score, but Germany's Hilke Grosse took profit of a mistake by Polish goalie Katarzyna Postanka. The Polish team was better in the final period, thus, they turned the match and won deservedly. Quite likely, they will face the Netherlands in the semis, while Germany will head Hungary.
