The first "real" matchday at Globe arena started with the A-group place 5 match, in which Latvia faced Denmark.
Denmark got an early lead in the 7th minute, but Latvia levelled up in first period in a nice match between two levelled teams. Denmark was quite strong at the beginning of second period when they scored twice - on the other hand, the Baltic team was a bit unlucky to catch Denmarks fourth goal just after the 3-2 in the 37th minute. Lativa played better in the final period and tied the score very fast. In the final second, a mistake by Henrik Engelsen gave Latvia the last chance of the match, which was taken by Ingus Laivins.
Latvia got fifth in the tournament by a dramatic, but not undeserved win against Denmark.
