From the first minute onward, Switzerland proofed that they are correctly the favourites in this match. They put great pressure on the Russian goal and just struggled with them wasting too many chances. On the other hand, Russia tried to start attacks by themselves, but often failed. They took a weak time of Swiss defense at the beginning of second half in order to score both goals. But though they closed up the score from 4-0 to 4-2 with this, Switzerland controlled the match all the time and never got in serious trouble against a great-fighting Russian team.
