After Latvia's great match versus Switzerland, they now had to face Finland who was supposed to be Sweden's great opponent in getting the World Championship title. Of course, the spectators hoped to get a sensation by the Baltic team.
It looked quite good at the beginning of the match for this. Latvia put the ball in Sintonen's net twice, but the referees decided on foot goaling and high sticking. In eigth minute, Finland started their race with two goals. After that, over the whole matchtime it was a match in one direction: straight to the Latvian goal. Though the result might sound quite hight, Latvia really did a great job and were awarded by two goals. On the other hand, Finland were just fantastic and showed that they are ready to fight for the title.
