Though Hungary was positively the favourite team, this match was expected to be closer than the first one of the day, when Italy smashed Singapore 11:0.
After a nervous start Hungary got the first lead after three minutes, but the USA tied after 12 in powerplay. AS Hungary was the definitely better team in the first twenty minutes, their 2:1-goal at two minutes left to play was definitely correct.
After the break, Hungary put the USA impressingly under pressure, scored their third goal, but the USA managed to score the 3-2 and to get the better team themselves. Two really bad defensive mistakes at twelve and two seconds left to play in the period made the Hungary luckily lead by three.
In third period, Hungary controlled the match again. They did not even get in trouble when they got a five minute major bench penalty and scored themselves a goal short-handed.
