Estonia got the lead. Italy tied again, but in the 35th minute, Estonia took the lead again which they
held until the break because of their great defense.
Italy put very much pressure on the Baltic team in third half, but Estonia even managed to get the 4-2 lead at 49:42. Italy also shot a goal shortly afterwards and were credited an penalty shot at 52:17. Though the goalie touched the
ball, it got inside to tie the score to 4-4. After a free shot, Estonia got the leat four minutes left to play.
They even survived a two man-power play in the last minute, which was a real three man one, as Italy took out their goalie. But at one second left, Italy shot the goal. An Estonian player was so angry about that that he threw his
bottle which broke on the referees. He was sent off, so the Overtime would start with a five minute power play for
Italy. They took this chance and scored after two minutes in overtime in the maybe most dramatic match
of the World Cup so far.
