Many people expected Switzerland in this first-ever all over Europe live broadcasted floorball match
to win and to get into the finals against Sweden - maybe also most of the 7200 spectators.
Switzerland started well and started to put pressure on their opponents. Though the Czech got
into the lead first, Switzerland were able to strike back and got into first break with a 3-2 lead.
In second half, Switzerland lost control of the match. It was more and more dominated by the defenses
which destroyed the opponent's matchplay. The Czech got better and better in the match the more it
took, so it was no surprise that they tied the score in the 39th minute.
Of course, no team wanted to be back in the score again, and this was how the beginning of third
period was like. There were just a few chances for both teams to score, but Marek Dvorak took one
in the 59th minute to bring Czech Republic the lead. Radim Cepek set the final score by an empty
net goal.
Switzerland was bitterly punished for loosing control of the game. The incredible crowd would
have derserved to see their team in the final, but they did not act clever enough today.
