Again, Germany was thought to be the underdog. Nevertheless they started well after both teams needed some minutes to get into the match. Germany even lead by 2-0, before they started getting nervous, made too many mistakes and could thank their goalie, that the score was just tied after twenty minutes.
In second half, Germany broke down and got three goals being 2-5 back. They again fought back to score the 3-5 and 4-5, but then did two silly defensive mistakes in the last 30 seconds, so they were 4-7 back after 40 minutes. In third half, Russia again was the more clever team and brought the victory home and are the deserved seventh placed team of the World Cup now.
