US Open 2004 - Introduction

Nine days of Flushing, NY, and the US Open are just behind me. Again, it has been a great tournament and it has made much fun to be there again after my first time 1999.

But there will also be some things I will remember about this tournament. For example the incredible bad linesmen and umpires, the ugly (men's) bathrooms at the outer grounds, the crap with the super-tiebreaker in mixed or the "check-in" of backpacks (backpacks were not allowed). The locals also complained about too high prices for food and drink, which already seem to be normal for me in Europe.
