Leander Paes/Nenad Zimonjic - Roger Federer/Yves Allegro 6:4 6:2

My original report from www.sports-india.com:
The match started with a very unusual action: Lee and Nenad won the toss - and gave their opponents the right to choose. Federer chose to serve first. The match started with some nice rallies, Federer had no problems to win his serve after 30-30. The Swiss pairing had one break point at Nenad's serve (30-40), but our guys made three in a row to tie the score. They had no chance against Allegro's serve and had no problems to win Lee's one, though they wasted a 40-15 lead and got deuced. Nothing to be really reported about happened at Rogers's and Nenad's serve, but at Yves's serve, it was 0-30. RFYA scored one point, but Nenad's following return was hit by the racket frame at became a really tough lob by that. 15-40, double break point for our team. They took the first chance and lead 4:3 at own serve now. Federer and Allegro had the chance to come back, as they had two break points at 30-40 and Ad Allegro when Lee served afterwards, but our guys played too concentrated. Roger's and Nenad's serve were straight afterwards, so we won the first set 6:4. The Swiss guys had their chances to get back in the set, but Lee and Nenad were too strong so far - nevertheless, you could see that Roger's singles skills, volleys and ground strokes are always dangerous. The crowd in full filled court 1, who nearly completely (of course, apart from a German guy wearing the Indian flag *smile*) favoured their darling Roger and his partner, got more and more silent and caught especially by the incredible double skills of the Indian player and his partner.
Lee and Nenad were good or even very good in first set, but they were great in the second one. Roger served first in second set, no chance for our guys, but it was the last game in which the Swiss pairing did not get in serious trouble. At the latest now, you could really see that especially Lee wanted to give the crowd a show what doubles tennis is all about (though they already saw it that day, when Germans Schüttler and Kohlmann were smashed down by the Bryan twins with a 0:6 1:6 37-minute-defeat) and at least take them their last local doubles hero. Nenad had no problems with his serve and tied the score, 1:1. Allgero was the weak spot again now. He lead 15-0, but then, Lee and Nenad scored four in a row and now lead 2:1. Our guys showed fantastic doubles tennis, 2,000 or 3,000 spectators (but one *smile*) were completely quiet now - they seemed to know now that the Federer show was over soon. But the Leander-Nenad show final was just about to start: no problems at Lee's serve, 3:1. Why not breaking Federer now? Good idea! Roger saved the first break point at 30-40 and even had advantage for himself, but Nenad and Lee wanted to finish it off now: two more break points, they took the second one and now lead 4:1 at Nenad's serve. Nenad seemed to struggle a bit now - but if your partner gets weaker, you have to be stronger. Lee showed two incredible volley stop shots (how on Earth can you volley-stop a hard ball that it hits the ground just inches behind the net???). Nenad seemed to like this shot, too, as after another break point, he showed a nice backhand stop at Ad server. No chance for Allegro and Federer, 5:1. You could really see now that Allegro was very nervous, he committed two double faults, so that Lee and Nenad had their first match point at 30-40. But this time, the Swiss were able to get out of that. No need to worry, as Lee now served at 5:2. Let's make it short: 40-0, triple match point, game, set and match Leander Paes/Nenad Zimonjic!
The second set was one of Lee's best doubles performances I saw so far. He gave a fantastic show to the German crowd - and apart from that even smiled to the spectators. When I saw our guys warming up before the match, I knew that they will do a good job - but after the match, I am proud to tell you: they were just great!
