Germany - Spain 1:0 (1:0)

After India's match, which was the highlight of the day for me, some 3,500 people came into the Warsteiner Hockey Park to watch the World Champion Germany facing the European Champs from Spain. Both teams have been unbeaten so far in the Four Nations, so that this match was somehow equal to a final.
Germany had a great start converting their first chance in the 4th minute after the Spanish defense struggled in controlling the ball. After that, nothing really exciting happened in first half, the German defense was just too well to give the guest team chances to score, whereas their offense could not find a way to get more chance, too. In second half, Spain definitely increased pressure on the German goal, but Germany's keeper Christian Schulte had a fantastic day and saved the victory. Germany just had some fast break opportunities in the last ten minutes of the match.
With that close win, Germany won the four nations. You may find more hockey pictures in the Indoor section (Indoor European Championship 2006, Eindhoven) .
