In order to start-off the season of their lower-ranked and junior teams, FCR Duisburg gave a huge opening party including a friendly match of their Bundesliga team against the Cologne second division team. Cologne started quite well, though they did not manage to get many opportunities to score. Nevertheless, Duisburg's Inka Grings was the only one to score a goal in first half, while the Cologne spirit was broken in the second one.
