After a weak Germany's first half, in which the Sylvia Neid team played unconcentrated and even trailed by one goal, the hosts controlled the Dutch team in the second half of this first match in the European Championship qualification. While Jessica Torny scored for the Netherlands, Birgit Prinz, Anja Mittag, Kerstin Garefrekes and Renate Lingor (two goals) saved the German lead.
