After the fantastic first semifinal, it was now time to find the opponent of the Espoon Oilers in the final. Playing
great floorball in the Cup so far, the Gothenburg team was definitely the favourite one. But with Mark Wolf playing
against his former team, it was clear that Chur was not just a chanceless underdog.
After three minutes, Chur did an amazing job by scoring three goals in 56 seconds. Of course, this made the
Swiss team fight even more and gave them power to survive the Gothenburg attacks. On the other hand, it was one of these
Mark Wolf-superb-days in which every opponents starts struggling. One minute before period break Pixbo was lucky when Chur hit
the post.
In the second period, Pixbo again started with high pressure, holding this all over the period and giving Chur just
some minor fast break chances. But an incredible Swiss defense gave the Swedish teams just enough chances to get the score
tied after 40 minutes.
Pixbo's fourth goal at the beginning of third period seemed to be a pre-decision of the match, but Chur still gave their
fans and their opponents an impressing fight, which was honored by a tieing powerplay goal in the 55th minute. The second semifinal
also had to be decided by overtime, Pixbo's Skoglund gave Chur the sudden death some two minutes in the overtime period.
Chur was not awarded for a great fight in a high-class game between two even-strengthed team. I think Mark Wolf to be the
dominating player of the match, but he has not been awarded this title.
